Day 1 | ECRDA Welcomes Investors to the Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA) yesterday kicked off its Investor Project Oversight Visits, marking the beginning of a week-long programme aimed at strengthening partnerships and unlocking new investment opportunities across rural agricultural projects in the province.
The opening day featured site visits to the Zanyokwe Irrigation Scheme, Seven Stars Dairy in Keiskammahoek, Middledrift Dairy Project, and Fort Hare Dairy under Amandlelo Agri.

These visits brought together key stakeholders, including the Department of Agriculture, Amatole District Municipality, Amahlathi Local Municipality, and local farmers.
Leading the delegation was ECRDA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simpiwe Somdyala, who hosted potential investors exploring collaborative ventures with the Agency.
Among these was AgroPlat Invest Holdings, an international investment company with which ECRDA recently entered into a formal partnership agreement.

Additional investors, including Agriculture House and other strategic partners are expected to join the delegation during the course of the week.
This initiative reaffirmed ECRDA’s ongoing commitment to attracting strategic investments, building sustainable public–private partnerships, and expanding market access for rural farmers and enterprises across the Eastern Cape.
